The Steelers took FSU LB Lawrence Timmons with the 14th overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft. Timmons was considered a first-round talent but might have been a reach here. Then again, his big size (6-foot-3, 232 pounds) combined with his 4.62 time in the 40-yard dash and his impressive resume at Florida State made him irrestible for the Steelers, who could always use solid outside linebackers.
