Armando Salguero, of The Miami Herald, reports Miami Dolphins QB Josh McCown is excited that there is an open quarterback competition and said he doesn’t think there is anything that can stop him from becoming the starter. He is in a competition with QB John Beck and QB Chad Henne. McCown said Beck and Henne feel the same way and that the best quarterback for the team will come out of the competition.

MiamiDolphins.com reports Miami Dolphins players hosted a fishing clinic for the Boys and Girls Club. FS Jason Allen, QB John Beck, WR Greg Camarillo, LB Channing Crowder, DL Junior Glymph, TE Aaron Halterman, OG Justin Smiley and former WR O.J. McDuffie were all in attendance at the fishing clinic. The clinic is a part of the 12th annual Miami Dolphins Fishing Tournament to benefit the Miami Dolphins Foundation.

The Dolphins picked BYU QB John Beck, 26, with their second-round pick in the 2007 NFL Draft. The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports that Beck was graded slightly higher than Brady Quinn on their draft board. Beck is a patient, accurate, quick passer that doesn't have much strength; he is a good west-coast offense type of passer.
