Edgar Thompson, of the Palm Beach Post, reports Miami Dolphins S Yeremiah Bell is not close to re-signing with the team. Bell's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said, "I wouldn’t say we’re close, but I have had discussions with the team. They have expressed an interest in keeping Yeremiah here with the Dolphins." Rosenhaus added he expects negotiations to continue throughout the season.

Barry Jackson, of the Miami Herald, reports Miami Dolphins QB Chad Henne has surprised some veteran defensive players with how much he has injected himself into the starting quarterback race. DE Vonnie Holliday said, "I like the way the guy carries himself. He's not intimidated." S Yeremiah Bell said Henne has exceeded expectations. Bell added, "He has a chance to win this job. You can't overlook that he's very impressive."

The Sports Network reports Miami Dolphins S Yeremiah Bell (Achilles') will miss the rest of the 2007 season with a torn left Achilles' tendon. Head coach Cam Cameron would not say whether the injury was a partial or complete tear.

Dolphins DB Travares Tillman will participate in the team's minicamp Friday after agreeing to a one-year, $720,000 contract, according to the Sun-Sentinel. Tillman started 17 games for the Dolphins during the past two years, although he was demoted and replaced by Yeremiah Bell at strong safety midway through last season. Tillman, a seven-year veteran who was an unrestricted free agent, and off-season signing Cameron Worrell (Chicago) are projected as backups in 2007 behind starting safeties Bell and Renaldo Hill.
