The team and Bruce agreed that No. 80 should not be used, 49ers spokesman Aaron Salkin said Wednesday, March 12.

Matt Maiocco, of The Santa Rosa Press Democrat, reports former San Francisco 49ers WR Jerry Rice said WR Isaac Bruce can wear No. 80 if he wants. Bruce has not commented on what uniform number he wants to wear. Rice wore No. 80 from 1985-2000, but the team has not retired the number.
