Casey Pearce, of Chargers.com, reports San Diego Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson (knee) will be on the field for the team’s minicamp the first weekend in May. He is also planning to attend the voluntary Offseason Coaching Sessions, which will start May 19. Tomlinson still isn’t 100 percent in his recovery from a second-degree sprain of his medial collateral ligament, but he believes “it’s in the 90 percentile.”

Kevin Acee, of the San Diego Union-Tribune, reports San Diego Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson might take part in the team’s preseason this year. Tomlinson said new running backs coach Ollie Wilson pointed out how slowly Tomlinson usually starts the regular season. Tomlinson said, “Maybe that's a part of not playing in the preseason; maybe it's not. Who knows? Maybe I might get a chance to run a little bit in the preseason.”

Chris Mortensen, of ESPN.com, reports San Diego Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson (knee) has a second degree knee sprain of the MCL that will require at least six more weeks to heal, according to his agent Tom Condon. Condon said the injury was positioned near an attachment that also “caused disruption of the hamstring fibers,” according to Los Angeles orthopedic specialist Dr. Neal Elattrache.

The Associated Press reports San Diego Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson (knee) withdrew from the 2008 NFL Pro Bowl Wednesday, Jan. 30. He will be replaced by Baltimore Ravens RB Willis McGahee.

The San Diego Chargers selected RB LaDainian Tomlinson as the team's Most Valuable Player and Offensive Player of the Year. It is his fifth MVP and Offensive Player of the Year Award in his career. Tomlinson won his second-consecutive rushing title by rushing for 1,474 yards and 15 touchdowns. He also moved into the seventh spot for most touchdowns in NFL history with 129. He was given the Rodney Culver Memorial Award for being named the team's Offensive Player of the Year.

ESPNews reports San Diego Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson (knee) will not require surgery to repair his injured knee. Tomlinson suffered the injury in the team's AFC Divisional Round playoff game against the Indianapolis Colts. Tomlinson said he may sit out the 2008 Pro Bowl game.
