According to the Indianapolis Star, Colts backup quarterback Jim Sorgi signed his one-year, $850,000 restricted free agent contract with the team. Sorgi has worked behind starter Peyton Manning since the team selected him in the sixth round of the 2004 draft. Sorgi, 26, who has appeared in 10 games, has completed 65.6 percent of his passes for 619 yards with five touchdowns and one interception.

The Colts have tendered restricted free agents CB Jason David, LB Gilbert Gardner, OGs Ryan Lilja and Jake Scott, QB Jim Sorgi and DE Josh Thomas. If any of them sign an offer sheet with another team, the Colts have the right of first refusal. The team would get second-round picks for Lilja, Scott or Thomas, a third for Gardner, a fourth for David and a sixth for Sorgi if they move to a new squad.
