Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo is still scheduled to start the team’s preseason game Saturday, Aug. 21, even though OG Kyle Kosier (knee) and OT Marc Colombo (knee) will not play, reports Gerry Fraley, of The Dallas Morning News. Head coach Wade Phillips is not planning on pulling back in the use of Romo. He added, “I feel good about the (line) group we have, and I think they'll do the job. It is an opportunity for a lot of guys to step up, and I think they will. ... We'll see about our depth, but I think we have a lot of depth on the offensive line.”

Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo was given the morning off Sunday, Aug. 1, reports Todd Archer, of The Dallas Morning News. Romo had an off-day Saturday, July 31, hitting 17-of-35 throws during practice. It is at the point where quarterbacks start to get a tired arm, so the time off should be good for him. Unofficially, Romo has thrown 207 passes in 12 practices.

Romo said he took a pain-killing injection afterward, but he doesn’t think it will keep him out of the Week 12 game. Romo said, “As long as it's not a broken bone that keeps you from missing time. I felt like with the adrenaline of the game you can always play. It hurts right before the snap and right after.”
