FOXSports.com reports Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo is participating in the Azalea Invitational golf tournament. Romo is just four shots off the lead in the country's top amateur golf event.

The Associated Press reports Dallas Cowboys WR Terrell Owens was quick to defend QB Tony Romo following the Cowboys defeat at the hands of the New York Giants in the playoffs. "This is not about Tony. You guys can point the finger at him, you can talk about the vacation, and if you do that, it's really unfair," Owens said. "It's really unfair. That's my teammate. That's my quarterback. You guys do that, it's not fair. We lost as a team. We lost as a team, man."

Some of the Dallas Cowboys players, including QB Tony Romo and TE Jason Witten, took the weekend off and traveled to Cancun, Mexico for a getaway. Head coach Wade Phillips said he had no problem with the trip because the players were given the time off.

Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (thumb) played in the teams Week 16 game and did not need any extra treatment after the game. Romo was able to make all the throws and was able to add zip on the ball when needed. He will be able to play Week 17.
