Rich Cimini, of the New York Daily News, reports New York Jets head coach Eric Mangini hinted during the NFL owners meetings that the Jets may be interested in signing a veteran quarterback. "There’s a possibility we could bring someone else in in free agency. We usually carry three and sometimes four in the preseason. Right now, I think it’s between [QB Kellen Clemens] and [QB Chad Pennington]. You have to wait and see what happens in terms of the draft and free agency," Mangini said.

Mike Florio, of SportingNews.com, reports New York Jets QB Chad Pennington is staying positive in regards to his future with the team. "I don't know what the organization's stance is, and I'm not really concerned about it," Pennington said after the Jets wrapped up the 2007 season. "I know whatever happens something good will happen for me." Pennington is due $6 million in 2008, but the Jets could release him before October to clear cap space.
