"The coaches believe I can do it and feel comfortable with me at any position," Leonard said. "My reps have increased, and I’m expected to be more involved in the offense. Cincinnati Bengals RB Cedric Benson was arrested and charged with assault with injury early Tuesday, June 29, after an incident last month at a downtown Austin bar, where officials said he punched an employee in the face, according to Tony Plohetski and Kevin Robbins, of the Austin American-Statesman. Benson had been involved in an altercation at the establishment and was being escorted out when he punched an employee, according to an arrest affidavit. Benson has posted bail and has been released from jail, according to jail records and officials. He faces up to a year in jail if convicted of the Class A misdemeanor.

Brad Biggs, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Ron Turner said RB Kevin Jones will have a pretty good role as RB Matt Forte’s backup. Turner said, “He'll just be a guy to spell [starter] Matt [Forte] in our base package. He's quicker, he's faster, playing with more confidence. He's not tentative on the knee or anything. He's had a great offseason. He's going to be productive for us. He's going to have a pretty good role.” Turner has used a two-back system before, with former Bears RB Thomas Jones carried 296 times in 2006 while former RB Cedric Benson had 157 carries.
