Mike O'Hara, of The Detroit News, reports Detroit Lions QB Jon Kitna is confident he will be the team's starting quarterback this year. Offensive coordinator Jim Colletto has said that there will be competition for the starting job. "When Dominic Raiola is in the game, I'll be in the game," Kitna said, referring to the starting center. "That's how I know when I'm up. When I see '51' go in, that's when I go."

Jon Machota, of the Detroit Free Press, reports Detroit Lions QB Jon Kitna said it would be a disappointment if the Lions do not win at least 10 games in 2008. Kitna said the same thing last season. "Last year was not a prediction, it was a statement of fact that if we didn't win 10 games, we would be disappointed, and I would say that would still hold true this year. We will be disappointed, but we're going to be a better football team," Kitna said.

Mike O'Hara, of The Detroit News, reports Detroit Lions QB Jon Kitna understands and supports all of head coach Rod Marinelli's offseason moves. "The one thing that Rod has done is really try to unify the whole organization, from top down," Kitna said. "He's worked hard at that. He's had to make some really tough decisions, part ways with some very talented people, both players and coaches. In the best interest of the team, that's what he's tried to do. I trust that with Rod."

Cotsonika, of the Detroit Free Press, reports Detroit Lions WR Roy Williams was asked during an interview with WFN-AM if the players weren’t on the same page with offensive coordinator Mike Martz. Williams said, “Um, we're just not executing, and at the same time, sometimes some of the calls aren't right at the time.” When asked if players have any input, Williams said QB Jon Kitna did. However, when Kitna would try to step out on a limb, Martz told him, “I've been doing this for 34 years.” Williams added, “He's won Super Bowls, so he makes the calls, and that's what we talked about as a group.”
