| Giants | Brandon Jacobs upset over role :: Fri Sep 03, 2010 12:31 pm |
New York Giants RB Brandon Jacobs was in a sour mood following the team’s preseason finale after he did not receive a single carry, according to Jane McManus, of ESPNNewYork.com. RB Ahmad Bradshaw was the official starting running back in the game. Jacobs said football was a brutal business. "No question," Jacobs said. "To be in this business, you have to know that. No one's your friend in this business. This is a cutthroat, backstabbing business. That's just the way it goes. It's been like that before me. If you expect anything else out of a business like this, you're crazy." Jacobs said it's too early to ask for a trade. There isn't anything that can be done with the season about to start, and the situation could work itself out. In the meantime, Jacobs said he would work hard and stay ready for the moments when his number is called. "It's almost hard to stay positive in a situation like this, but that's what I've got to do," Jacobs said.

| Giants | Ahmad Bradshaw appears to be No. 1 running back :: Sun Aug 08, 2010 11:50 am |
New York Giants RB Ahmad Bradshaw (feet, ankle) appears to be the team's starting running back, reports Paul Schwartz, of The New York Post. During almost every team period, the first play is a handoff to Bradshaw. He has seen about three times as many rushing attempts as Brandon Jacobs (knee), who is typically assumed the team's No. 1 back. Both players are coming off offseason surgery, so it isn't a matter of the team simply trying to keep Jacobs fresh. When asked about the starting lineup, head coach Tom Coughlin said, "You guys are all hung up on that stuff. All I want is healthy bodies and depth. They'll all be utilized and, as you know, there are a lot of games to play."
