Jim Thomas, of The St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports free-agent QB Gus Frerotte (Vikings) could be an option as a backup for the St. Louis Rams. He may visit with the team next week. He was with the Rams in 2006 and 2007 and started three games during '07.

Michael Silver, of Yahoo! Sports, reports Minnesota Vikings QB Gus Frerotte, who is pondering his future, felt he was the best option at quarterback for the team and should have started the team's playoff game. "I just don't know what to think right now. It was a very frustrating experience, because I felt like I should've been the one playing," Frerotte said. "That might sound selfish, but I think I would've given us the best chance to win. I'm going home to St. Louis (on Monday) to be with my family and figure out where things stand, but the way things played out at the end really makes me question things."
