Aaron Wilson, of the National Football Post, reports New York Jets impending restricted free-agent WR Braylon Edwards has been given the high tender, according to ESPN. The Jets would receive a first- and third-round draft choice as compensation should another team sign Edwards and the Jets refuse to match the offer.

Updating a previous report, The New York Post reports New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan said WR Braylon Edwards, who will be a restricted free agent, will be back with the team next season. Ryan said the team plans to tender a contract that would give the team a first-round and third-round draft choice if a team signs Edwards and the Jets do not match the offer.

Mark Puente, of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, reports the Cleveland Browns contacted the FBI when WR Braylon Edwards was on their team because Edwards was receiving threats. The threats followed an incident when Edwards was accused of punching a man outside a Cleveland nightclub. The FBI did not do an investigation into the possible threats, and Edwards was traded to the New York Jets a few days after they contacted the FBI.
