Huge Win By The Habs

Wed Mar 12, 2008 10:36 am

[ Working Currently: Working  ]
The Canadiens picked up a huge win in a statement game against the New Jersey Devils who happened to be, before last night, the conference leader. The Canadiens scored 4 goals and Price picked up the shutout win with 38 saves. The win moves Montreal into first place in the conference standings. This is one of the most exciting teams to watch and could be a dangerous opponent in the playoffs.

So Huet Is Gone

Wed Feb 27, 2008 3:30 pm

[ Working Currently: Working  ]
Huet was traded to Washington for a 2nd round pick in '09. Not to bad considering that he was not going to be resigned by the end of the year. However I am disturbed by the fact that the Habs are in contention for a playoff spot and could get homefield advantage, and they traded away their goalie with the most experience.

Dont get me wrong. I love Price. He is the man and he will lead this team for years to come. It may be a bit to early to tell him to win this one for us though. The best part about him is that he is very cool and calm so no matter what happens he can handle it. Halak as a backup is a pretty good thing as well. Halak has played some games with great success in the NHL so I am not to concerned about him.

I was hoping that the Habs would land Jokinen or Hossa but you know what, not at the expense of Mr Higgins. He is the real deal and Montreal should hang on to him.

One thing I found out today is that the Canadiens have the most 40 point or more scorers in the league. We dont have an Ovechkin. Lecavalier, or Crosby, but we do have a team. I would rather have 7 40 or more point scorers than 2 80 or more point scorers any day.

The Canadiens will contend and if Price is half as good as many Montreal fans say he is than we may see some late season hockey games come from this team.

NFL Season Is Here!

Fri Sep 07, 2007 10:25 am

[  Mood: Happy ]
[ Working Currently: Working  ]
The NFL season is here and these are the things I am looking forward to and the questions I am looking for answers for:

All Pats games! Especially the Colts and Chargers.
Who will be the breakout fantasy star?
What QB will be replace first?
How will the rookies perform?
Can the Colts repeat and will NO continue to be the darling of the NFL?
Can my boy Alex Smith bring my 2nd favorite team back to prominence or is he going to be a filler for the next great QB in SF?
Will Joey Harrington finally perform up to expectations now that nothing is expected of him?
How will Matt Schaub fair in his first season as an NFL starter?
Who will win comeback player of the year?

There are probably many more that I am forgetting but if you want to post your own please do so.

NHL Playoffs Are Over

Tue Jun 12, 2007 12:59 pm

So the playoffs came to an end with a 4-1 series win by the Anaheim Ducks over the Ottawa Senators. The following are some things that I took away from the Stanley Cup Playoffs:

1. Getzlaf is a player to watch for years to come. He raised his level of play and he did really well throughout the playoffs. He was one of the teams leading scorers. When Selanne retires he is going to be the future scoring leader of the Ducks.

2. Playoff hockey continues to be the most intense and the most entertaining professional sport to watch. I love the SB and the World Series, but neither can compare.

3. Old style physical hockey finally returned during the playoffs, and this is what will draw fans. If only the NHL would just allow this kind of physical play to happen during the regular season.

4. Not only are the vast majority of sports fans turning their back on the NHL. Many are not even willing to give it a shot but feel that they need to state their uneducated opinions about it.

NHL Playoffs Are Coming!

Tue Mar 20, 2007 11:34 am

[ Working But Trying not to Currently: Working But Trying not to ]
The NHL playoffs are almost upon us and I for one cant wait. Despite the fact that one of my favorite teams are not in it I still have plenty to look forward to. Here is my top 10 list of things to look for in this seasons NHL Playoffs:

10. The final regular season games in which Colorado, Montreal, NY Islanders and Rangers, Toronto, Carolina, Calgary and Tampa Bay all fight for the final positions in their Conferences.

9. Another subway series could happen (NY Islanders vs NY Rangers)

8. Hard hitting, fast paced action of playoff hockey.

7. Goalies up their game and make new names for themselves.

6. Upsets in the making.

5. Brothers could be facing off Jordan vs Eric Staal.

4. If Carolina gets in they can defend their Stanley Cup.

3. The chance to see teams like NJ and Detroit get knocked out.

2. Division Rivals have a chance to square off. Buffalo vs Ottawa, Detroit vs Nashville, NJ vs Pittsburgh, Anaheim vs San Jose, Vancouver vs Minnesota. even our friends from the South get some action with a chance of Atlanta vs Tampa Bay!

1. Sidney Crosby makes his NHL Playoff debut.
