The DevilRays have a guy coming up from AAA, named Joey Gathwright. This guy is supposed to be faster than Carl Crafword. He stole 43 bases in 92 minor league games last year. In his MLB debut last season he stole two bases. I think we have a potential sleeper guy (for us fantasy geeks!)

Yes Gathrihgt is Fast but he has no avg or power numbers all he has in speed. If u wanted to take someone in the D-rays minor leagues u gotta go with Delmon Young who has major power possibilites a good fielding and has alright speed maybe 5-10 stolen bases with he could provide much more fantsay catagorys then gathright could. Also there is BJ Upton who does have speed and could steal about 20-25 bases a year but also can have the average and power over gathrihgt so if u are gonna take a minor leaguer to watch out for from the devil rays make sure u go with Delmon Young or BJ Upton

No. The D-Rays will finish around 71-91. They have so much speed and D but there are not enough hitters. They need more well known guys, like they couldve gotten Mags. What they need is money and power. Their only legit power hitter is Aubrey Huff and even he gets hurt and his power numbers collapse sometimes. They need a big hitter to compliment the speed of Crawford and to drive him in. I really think Upton is overrated. He is a horrible defensive player and is not as fast as say Jose Reyes. Gathwright would be good if he could hit. You dont hear anything about Esix Snead from the Mets system. In 2001 he stole 114 bases in 127 games. This year it was 66 in 109 games. he is the fastest player in any system...Delmon Young is still 3 years away. They need power hitters NOW not in 2008.

Huff is a good hitter but what about Josh Phelps he is an underrated guy with great power possibilites he will get 500 at bats for the first time in his career which should lead to 30+homers with crawford and sanchez and huff hitting in front of him

The Rays wont win more than 75. Phelps is a horrible average hitter. My projections for him are.
.253-27-92. He wont get many RBIs.

Buddy, he'll break your heart with the bases loaded. He strikes out so much in clutch situations.

Nice on the posts Sports! As far as TB I'm starting to doubt BJ Upton's ability as a fielder I have no doubt he'll become a mojor League player but im not sure about a high end short stop. Kazmir I think is the real deal though. As far as Gathwright he got sent down jsut competing with Sanchez? That's not a good sign. Once again I think they will end up at the bottom of the East.
