He's one of the top spects entering the '08 season without a thread. He's got the power and speed you love in fantasy. He plays a good centerfield and the Cards dealt Jimmy Edmonds without a second thought. He might not start right now (Schumacher, seriously?), but Colby Rasmus could be a Chris Young-type producer when he gets to the show. And he's only 21.

52 HR, 58 SB in 321 games in the minors. 29 and 18 in 472 AB last season. Hitting for average maybe a problem (108 K in 472 AB in AA) but he gets enough walks to make up for his contact. The Cards will be out of it pretty quickly so they might use him early on, or not at all. Really, it's up in the air. But projections could match those of CBYoung's first season with fewer steals.

he should be able to maintain an average around .270 even early on. last year he had mono and the loss of strength/energy caused him to go into a horrendous slump for nearly two months which killed his average. like you said, i love his power/speed potential to go along with great defense and work ethic. he's supposedly worked out pretty hard over the winter to put on some muscle and is up to 200 lbs. (25 lbs more than last year)

I own him in one of my NL only leagues. I'm hoping he tears it up this spring and earns a starting spot.
