Cal beat Hawaii in Australia by 20 last night. Davis Webb (former Texas Tech QB that transferred for grad school after he lost the starting job to Pat Mahomes) was great. Chad Hansen was awesome as well, and the Aussie Rules Football celebration was a classic.

Any predictions for this upcoming season? I think Bama, LSU, Clemson and Ohio State make the playoff.

Please don't let it be Ohio State. I'd much rather Michigan sneak in there.

Can McCaffrey sniff the Heisman when he already broke the all-purpose yardage record and finished in 2nd? Fournette will certainly get the SEC bump that Henry got.

Nope, their games are on too late. /s

Seriously though, if he didn't win last year, he's never going to win.

Lamar Jackson had eight touchdowns (six passing and two rushing) in the first half as Louisville destroyed Charlotte.

Tennessee needed a missed extra point, Andy Reid like clock management and an offensive fumble recovery in the end zone to beat Appalachian State in overtime.

Christian McCaffrey was quiet most of the night except for two long touchdown runs. Stanford beat Kansas State in a defensive battle.

Michigan State struggled against Furman of all teams, but a win is a win.

Baylor "only" put up 55 against Northwestern State in a win.

Notre Dame somehow tied the game at 37 with an extra point returned for 2 and then Texas won it anyway in 2nd OT. Incredible game!

Honestly, I can't remember another hyped up weekend that actually lived up to the billing. And perhaps the game everyone expected to be the best is still coming up.

Preseason polls are so dumb. Wisconsin and Texas moved from unranked to 10th and 11th respectively.

Lamar Jackson had 411 passing yards and 199 rushing yards as Louisville destroyed Syracuse on the road. He had five total touchdowns. He is the early Heisman favorite in my opinion, although his quality of competition hasn't been good.

ASU barely escaped powerhouse UTSA needing 17 points in the 4th to stun them 32-28. UTSA was only 3-9 last year but also battled Arizona fairly well in the season opener.

Bama's come back from 24-3 and leads 41-30 in the 4th. They look like they'll escape the Rebels.

Oregon-Nebraska has been amazing. One minute left with the Ducks down 3 and with the ball.

Tennessee barely edged Ohio and Wisconsin needed a 4th quarter comeback to beat Georgia State. Michigan looked mediocre vs. the Buffaloes at home.

UConn defeats Virginia, who lost to Richmond last week and USF dismantled Syracuse - ACC, baby!

Virginia missed a 20 yard field goal at the gun to lose.

Notre Dame lost at home to Duke. No, this isn't basketball.

Michigan State did not show up at home against Wisconsin.

Ole Miss destroyed Georgia.

Tennessee killed Florida in the second half to win at home.

UCLA is down 16-13. They go for a Hail Mary, but Josh Rosen gets sacked. He lost the ball, and Stanford returned it for a touchdown as time expired. The spread was Stanford by 3 or 3.5 everywhere. Damn, that's a bad beat if you had UCLA covering the spread.

I don't know how Tennessee does it, but they keep winning.

Michigan beat Wisconsin in a defensive game.

Stanford got destroyed by Washington last night.

Louisville @ Clemson in a few minutes...

Boston College almost had it. Seriously, though, Clemson has improved from last season - they should be able to beat a freshman QB at Bama if it comes down to that.

Guess which Idaho team playing on blue turf is 5-0.

A&M and Tennessee in a matchup of top tens, supposedly. Vols in a tough road match before getting Bama at Knoxville - can they shed the near-loss to App State and show they are top-ten worthy?

Bama-Arkansas and FSU-Miami the other ranked-on-ranked matchups. May be a trap game for the Tide facing Tennessee next week, but Saban's rarely not prepared. The Noles are coming off that ugly loss to UNC, so the defense has no confidence right now facing the Canes, who have 933 rushing yards through 4 games.

Houston's playoff dreams are probably over, as they lost to Navy. Even if Houston beats Louisville later in the year, I can't see a one loss Cougars team making it.

Meanwhile, the loss hurts Louisville as well. I could have seen both Clemson and Louisville make it if Houston went 12-1 with their only loss to Louisville, and Louisville's only loss being to Clemson (and of course, Clemson being undefeated as well).

Michigan held Rutgers under 50 yards as they killed them in Jersey 78-0. They even ran a fake extra point after a touchdown, which they converted.

Texas A&M beat Tennessee, whose magic ran out in College Station. The Vols are a fraud, I think.

Gameday goes to Madison this weekend, where the Badgers host the Buckeyes. Navy, who just moved into the poll, had their game at ECU postponed.

Penn State dropped #2 Ohio State. I'm sure everyone noticed.

Ohio State will still get in the playoff if they run the table. Their season isn't over yet.

Of course the Pac-12 gets the shaft again in favor of an SEC team... a one loss one at that.

The rankings on Tuesday should be interesting.
