I don't expect this to be answered since there hasn't been a post in here for over a year and a half... but I'll ask anyway.

I got offered a trade in a start up dynasty league that is starting play next season. It is one leg of a four sport league, but this offer only involves hockey players/picks. The categories are the same as the FPM league plus hits, blocked shots and faceoffs, and game winners do not count.

I get: Nic Petan, Robby Fabbri, pick #11 and pick #13
I give: Ryan Johansen

I've been asking around the internet, and I've gotten mixed responses. I think my team would be able to contend, but I would sacrifice winning next year for winning the trade.

Thoughts?

It depends. What does the draft look like? Anyone available or only true rookies just drafted? Also, what do you think of your current roster?

Johansen is a really good player. I don't care for Petan at all as I see him more of a third line guy with skill. Fabbri is another guy that may take a while to mature. If you have the open spots to handle all the players it could be a good deal. But it will probably take 3 to 4 years to realize the value.

Anyone under 150 games played counts as a prospect and is eligible to be drafted.

I like my current team. I'd also be giving Johansen to one of my biggest threats in the league.

I think I'm going to decline it, but I want to think it over a little more.

I declined the offer. The other owner needed a response ASAP, so I rejected it.
