I have to admit, even though it's just a game I felt a bit betrayed.

D-Store's PS3 was on to something.

Ichiro just got traded to the Yanks for pitchers D.J. Mitchell and Danny Farquhar.

Definitely going to be weird seeing Ichiro in pinstripes.

Infante and Anibal "the cannibal" Sanchez to Tigers for Turner, Rob Brantly, and Brian Flynn. And they swapped compensation picks.

I smell desperation.

The best part of the Ichiro trade is that the Yanks are playing in Seattle.

Ichiro's been pretty mediocre at best, terrible at his worst. I haven't seen him play in a year (who'd willingly watch a Seattle game if their own team weren't playing them?), but I imagine he still has a good arm and plus speed.

Dempster may or may not be heading to the Braves. I'm still not clear on that.

Lots of decent to solid Phillies names will probably be on the market, but hopefully one isn't Cole Hamels.

Could Ichiro pull a Gtanderson and take advantage of the short porch in right field?

We've all heard for years that he has power (back in Japan and in batting practice) but brings a different approach to the plate during games. It might be an interesting twist to the back end of his career.

If it turns out that we get Delgado from the Braves, then I like this deal a lot. He's a much better prospect that what I would have expected to get in return for the 35 year old Dempster.

I'm on the fence about his fantasy impact here. Seattle is a great place for a guy with speed to hit doubles and triples. In NY it's gonna be mostly singles or long balls. I doubt he's been trying to hit for power with the M's, so we'll have to see if he has a bit of pop left. Other than that, the only positive is a better lineup. I'm no Yankees fan, but if there's anyone who deserves to wear a WS ring, it's Ichiro. It's a no brainer why he wanted this trade.

Looks like the Jays are gonna take a run at Hanley.

The As and Red Sox are also rumored to be after Hanley.

Philly is selling Hunter Pence, now, too.

Justin Upton will not be traded.

I highly doubt it. I like Ichiro, but he's never been much of a risk taker. He'll hit 8th, likely sit against lefties and only steals when it's a sure thing. I think his name is bigger than his game. (didn't mean to rhyme) He definitely gives them an upgrade on defense though.

Maybe this will help ease the loss of Lin somehow.

Wandy is a Pirate for a pair of minor league pitchers and a decent outfielder (#8 in Pirates system accoring to BA).

Hanley Ramirez gets traded to LA along with Randy Choate, while the Marlins added Nathan Eovaldi and the minor league pitcher Scott McGough.

It may seem like a rather paltry haul, but look at Ramirez's numbers since 2010. LA's really taking a risk on a 29-year-old clubhouse distraction who'll give you the phenomenal game every once in a while where he's a menace at the plate on the bases, but then he'll coast for the next week.

Defensively, only Chris Johnson has been worse at third this year (according to fangraphs). Only Jeter and Betancourt have had worse numbers the past 6 seasons at shortstop.

I think Miami didn't get anything special, but Eovaldi seems like a starter, and the scouting team down there knows their arms.

Also, Cole Hamels re-signs with Philly for 6Y, $148M. Seems rather obvious to me that either Pence or Lee gets traded now.

I honestly think Hanley will excel in LA.

Think about it. He's had issues with hustling and authority over his career. But he's been playing for the Marlins who year after year have had the smallest payroll, no fans and has been basically playing by himself since they traded Miggy along with their tendency to have a revolving roster any time they can get save a buck or two.

Now he gets to play for a storied franchise with a diehard fanbase, along with Kemp and Either, for owners who are showing that they are willing to spend/invest to put out a quality product.

Nobody can deny that the guy has talent. I wouldn't be surprised if the new environment helps reinvigorates his career.

I agree. Hanley didn't seem happy with the Marlins. And its been pretty obvious the Marlins weren't too happy with him. Its human nature, when we work for a company that treats us like crap, we work only as hard as we have to. If you work for a company that treats you with respect and praises you for your efforts, you tend to work harder and try to accomplish more. Hanley has already shown what he's capable, he just needs management that can convince him that he's STILL capable of it.

Greinke to LA for Jean Segura, Ariel Pena and Josh Hellweg.

Greinke's been on the block for a while, and the sweep of the Brewers pretty much sealed his fate. He has 122 K in 123 innings with 28 walks and a 3.44 ERA. He posted 201 K in 171.2 innings last year with a 3.83 ERA.

Segura's the top infield prospect in LA's system who made his ML debut Tuesday, and the other two are double-A pitchers.

I'm just hoping the Rangers don't get antsy and trade for Shields. He'd be terrible in Arlington.

It sounds like they're pursuing Josh Johnson.

Soto is a Ranger for a Double-A pitcher. Malholm and Reed Johnson to the Braves for Vizcaino (ouch).

Giants get Hunter Pence.

Rangers get Rayn Dempster.

Dodgers get Shane Victorino.

I'm also hearing Broxton to the Reds.

By the way, what's up with the west divisions? Angels, Rangers, Dodgers, Giants... all really active.

Poor Ryan Dumpster, he's gonna get lit up like a bag of doodie on some dorks doorstep in Texas. Oswalt won't be in the bullpen long.

I had similar thoughts, but mainly because I still remember his troubles as a closer (I called him Ryan Sperm Dumpster then). His peripherals are similar to Harrison's, only with more strikeouts, though so there's some hope for success.

Obviously I am slightly bias, but I don't see Dempster excelling in the AL, especially not in the Texas heat.
