|
|
I'm looking at getting a PS3 in the next month for or so my birthday. (May 18, so mark your calendars)
I have a question regarding updated rosters for games like The Show and Madden.
How often do updated rosters happen? Do they still make updated rosters for past games of the same series? (MLB 11 The Show for instance)
Thanks for your time on this! |

MLB the show has a online vault for rosters, made by the fans. Probably even more accurate than the officially released ones. Just sort the list by most downloaded, or ratings, or date added.
The best rosters are made by OSFM, i can send you a link to them if you want. |

Since I won't have one for at least a few weeks, I was just curious as to how it worked. You really helped! Thanks! By the way, is it the same way for Madden or other sports games?
Sounds very similar to what I do for sports games I play on my PC. I download a new updated roster for NBA Live 08 every year. |

| For Madden, you'll have to format a usb stick (FAT32 i think) to load a roster file onto the PS3. I'll find you a download file and send it to your inbox. |

| i like 360 since i can hack the hell out of it, but PS3 is also hackable, the games are 3 times as big to download though. the bluray player is most selling point. |

Well, I finally got my PS3. I'm running into trouble downloading the latest patch for Skyrim.
I'm getting "Error Code 80710723". Any way to fix this? Thanks! |

Error code 80710723 indicates a disconnection from the playstation network or server. Check that your router is working properly.
Don't ask me how I know this, I'm not a hardcore gamer geek. lol |

Yeah, I've done some research since I didn't get a reply on here for a while. I figured it out.
My router works fine. It just kind of 'hiccups' every now and then. I found a long ethernet cable and just made it a wired connection. Haven't had any problems since.
My small PS3 library so far consists of Skyrim, LA Noire and Red Dead Redemption. |

| Loved Red Dead (Download Undead Nightmare, it's rather short but still fun). I just couldn't get in to LA Noire. |

I'll check it out. I bought the Game of the Year edition, so it's already on there. Just trying to get through the main story first.
I understand about LA Noire. It is a bit slow. It's perfect for me when I'm trying to wind down at night. |

i like LA. it was nice and reminded me of my old games like police quest for the PC. check out the Mass Effect series. i am a fan of that. because you started so late you should be able to get the older games at discount prices.
Fallout 3 one of the best games ever!!! |

| Just picked up MLB 12 The Show. Haven't even played it yet, but once I get going I'd love to utilize some online play. |

I'll get back to you in a year after I'm done getting everything set. Holy no-no, what an ordeal!
By the way, is there any way to simply turn off all of the menu audio? It took me a while to figure out how to turn the music off, but now those calls of plays from announcers won't shut up. Is silence too much to ask from this game? |

Try the mute button on your remote.
I admit the commentators get pretty repetitive, and the addition of Eric Karros just seems akward and annoying. For a fun drinking game, take a drink everytime Karros starts a sentence with "Yeah" |

That's what I resorted to. It seemed only logical to have an on/off for that, but whatever.
By the way, I don't mean the announcers during the game. I mean the replays that play over and over while in the menus. |

| Oh just put it in fast play mode and you won't have to deal with any of that. No replays no batter walk-ups. |

LOL! Not during the game, in the menus.... I don't how much more clear I can make it.
It's all good. At any rate, I've figured it out. It just took some time to get used to the format and where everything is.
Played my first Spring Training game just to get used to the controls and beat the Reds 10-0, so I was happy. |

I've been playing Road To The Show Mode (or career mode for those playing the releases prior to 2012) for the first time ever. I usually play franchise mode. I was drafted by the Yankees which was a bummer, but went with it anyway. By the mid way point of the season, my player had become quite the slugger with 24 homeruns (15 more than anyone else on the AA Thunder) and 83 RBI's. That's a career year for some guys at the big league level. I was really starting to get in to it, then I get a message that I had been traded to Seattle for Ichiro. I have to admit, even though it's just a game I felt a bit betrayed. At least my first game with the Generals I had one of my best games going 4/5 with 3 doubles, a solo shot and a strike out (got too anxious and kept chasing the same damn slider... lol).
I always thought this mode of the game would be boring, but it's easy to get drawn in to it. I recommend it to those who tend to get board with standard game play. |

I'm about 7 games into my season. Somehow I managed to throw a perfect game with Josh Tomlin in his first outing of the season. LOL!
Anyway, I'm getting the hang of it again. My pitching is much better than my hitting.
Also, just finished Red Dead Redemption and am about to take on the God of War Origins games. Really enjoyed it! |

| This Road To The Show mode is starting to get frustrating. Right now I am an SP for the Rockies and I'm starting to get goals like hit 5 or mare home runs and draw 4 or more walks over the next 6 series. I'm a pitcher!! I'll be lucky to even get that many AB's. And with the manager asking me to bunt most of the time these goals aren't even achievable. |
