After winning the Twins' starting CF job, what could this kid do? Assuming he gets around 400 at bats more, he could get around 30-40 steals this year. The question is does he have the eye and smarts to steal even more bases because nobody questions his speed. Unfortunately, he'll likely bat in the .250, .260 range. He's not a contact hitter nor much of a walks guy, so hopefully he keeps the job because of that great speed.

I think he's best off as a fantasy future and left alone for this season unless a team is desperate for steals. He'll be a good lead-off type hitter one day, but not anytime soon.

Great speed and nothing else in my opinion. I disagree with you Gdawg with you on him being a good lead-off type. I just don't see it in his game. In the minors he had a poor on base percentage and he has never been one to work the count. He will be a 40 steal guy some day but its going to be tough for him to rack up the steals if he has a hard time reaching pass.

Fantasy wise, I would leave him a lone. He will bring a very limited offensive game besides the stolen bases. I would stay away until he proves he can reach base at a more consistent basis.

He never had a great OBP, but he wasn't truly awful at taking walks and of course was one of the youngest players at each level he played at. I think he can continue learning how to get on base more and of course just making better contact with the ball will help him out. Of course using his speed more will also help out. I don't think he can do all that in one year which is why I wouldn't trust him to do anything this year past get some steals.

His minor league numbers and Reyes's aren't that different. Hell, Gomez's OBP is higher.

His biggest problem is that you can't steal first. That kid would swing at a pitchout. He needs to settle down and get some discipline.
