So Bryce Harper ran into a wall. About the only thing he's done wrong since getting called up. Gonna be a long 2 decades.

Billy Butler had the league's 2nd 5-hit game yesterday (Carlos Santana had the other) with 5 RBI. He had a 7-RBI game earlier this season meaning 12 of his 25 RBI this season have come in 2 games.

Jean Segura had 3 steals yesterday, the most since Everth Cabrera last September. Segura somehow didn't score a run.

And Yu Darvish faces the Astros tonight. Remember his last start against the Astros? Yeah, he was thisclose to a perfect game.
There were a pair of one hit shutouts yesterday. Shelby Miller allowed a leadoff single and then retired 27 straight batters to end the game. I think John Lackey did that with the Angels a few years ago. Jon Lester had the other one.
King Felix went 8 strong with 1 run on 6 hits and 5 K. He has a 1.43 ERA on the season.

Nolasco has 9 K thru 7 with 4 hits allowed but the Marlins haven't scored on Jason Marquis in San Diego.
Knicks walk. Grizz close out game 2.
Can the Warriors have another Game 1 effort, and does Chicago have any shot at going up 2-0? I say no to both.

I can't blame them for the desperation after being the 3-seed in a ridiculous West this year and only winning 2 games in the playoffs. Then again, they'd probably have to trade their most valuable perimeter player in Gallinari to get Love. I think Fournier could be a worse-but-still-good-shooting, better-all-around version of Gallinari, but whether Love's a huge upgrade (one that turns them from good 3 seed to top-2 seed and champion contender) over Faried's debatable. They can re-sign Iguodala unless they think Brewer's a good enough option for a lot less.
Congrats to the Nuggets' George Karl for being named the 2012-13 NBA Coach of the Year!
There are a lot of trade talks going on here. The biggest name I'm hearing the most is Kevin Love. And just about every trade scenario has the Nugs giving up Faried.
_________________
Member of the Fantasy Sports Writers Association

Who leads the Majors with a 1.07 ERA after Buchholz gave up 4 in 6 vs. the Twins? Why, it's Jake Westbrook, who has never had a full-season ERA under 3.38... which he did in 2004. His WHIP of 1.40 suggests he won't alter that streak.

Also, look out for Patrick Corbin of the DBacks. 6 starts, 1.80 ERA, 32/10 K/BB in 40 IP. His first-pitch strike & is over 71%, second to only Tim Hudson in the bigs.
The Warriors... AHHHHH. 16 or 18 point lead with 4 minutes left and they allowed an 18-2 or 20-2 run and it's tied at 106. Jack hits the big shot at the end of the first OT to head to OT2, where Bazemore... yes, Kent Bazemore seemingly stunned everyone with the game winner only to be bested by Manu's rainbow trey. It's a series, though.

Pacers already won game one and could very well win game 2, but the Knicks are too desperate to allow it.

The Grizz blew a game one victory by losing the ball. Can Durant go 35/15 again? Doubt it. Ibaka and Perkins came through defensively in the final minutes but they were god-awful to the tune of 2-16 shooting with 12 boards, 4 turns and 8 fouls as a duo. Memphis is in good position to win game 2.
Great win for the Bulls last night!

I agree with anti-Crawford comments. Is there not a checks and balance system in place for NBA refs? The guy comes into every game with a chip on his shoulder. He's like an angry old man that shakes his fist at cars driving by too fast or yells at kids playing on his lawn.
_________________
Member of the Fantasy Sports Writers Association

It's a stunner. A Bulls team without Rose, Deng and Hinrich beats a healthy, rested Miami in Miami.

Marlins murdered Halladay and the Phils, 14-2. I'm hearing Doc's likely headed to the DL, but it may just be delaying the inevitable need to kick him out of the rotation entirely. The Marlins had 13 runs in their past 5 games... they even had a 10-game stretch with 14 total runs earlier this season.

Darvish struck out 14 Red Sox batters and has 72 total on the season... no other pitcher has 55.
Kazmir won his first MLB game since September 19, 2010 with the Angels. He struck out 7 in 6 vs. the Twins. Aaron Hicks, the new CF after the trades of Span and Revere, hit his first HR for Minny but is still slugging just .198.

R.A. Dickey's lost his fifth game of the year and the Jays are now 10-21, just one loss fewer than the Astros and Marlins for worst in baseball. On the other side was Seattle's Hisashi Iwakuma, who allowed a run on 5 hits in 7 and has a 1.61 ERA and 42 Ks over 44.2 IP this season. Michael Saunders is OPSing .981 after a 2-HR game in the leadoff spot.

Jean Segura hit another home run.
