Reed Johnson ties up the game with a 2R-HR in the 7th, then Daryle Ward gives the Cubs the lead with a 2r-2b in the 8th. Marmol gets the W, Wood hits a batter in the 9th but gets Ojeda to ground into a 6-4-3 game ending double-play. Cubs complete the sweep of the D'Backs, coming from behind in every game.

Those were my choices as well. Konerko is playing in an NL park over the weekend and might lose ABs to Thome since there's no DH. Besides, all Konerko does is walk.

Would you guys keep the OF the way I have it?

The Angels nor Marlins pitching staff scares me, so it's up in the air for 1B. Votto's probably the better option.

So a team with do discipline or ability to play defense hires a coach who doesn't discipline and has no ability to teach his team defense? This will be a disaster. At best he'll lose for for years, go somewhere else, and they'll finally be on the right direction in five years, and D'Antoni will get no credit for that even if he did contribute to it.

The Knicks offense was actually looking good at the end of last season. Their lowest point total in April was 93, and that was against Boston. They also gave up over 100 points on a seemingly every day basis, so I guess we'll see the same thing next year.

Weekly lineups, points league.

This is what I am thinking so far. Byrnes is obviously hurting and a DL stint is probably coming. Markakis only has 5 games this week or else he'd be in there.

1B - J Votto (7 games) or P Konerko (7 games)
OF - J Hamilton (6 games)
OF - N Mclouth (7 games)
OF - H Pence (7 games)
UTL - C Young (6 games)

BNCH - N Markakis (5 games)
BNCH - E Byrnes (6 games)

Who would you guys have at 1B? Would you have the other 1B at UTL? Would you guys make any other changes?

Also, who would you take a SP?

I think Cain is a no brainer since he has 2 starts but the 2 start article on the homepage of this site has him listed as an injury watch. What injury is that talking about? I haven't heard anything about him.

Florida one-upped Cleveland with ten runs in the first four with seven in the fourth (and still batting). Uggla keeps dominating with 5 RBI, Cody Ross has 3 RS. Newly signed Hanley has 2 runs.
Bay has a double and bomb as well. Tex had a 2-run shot. 3-2 Pitt in the 6th.
Boston-Minny 1-1 in the 5th with a Youk homer and a Gomez RBI single.
Kaz has 6 K in 4 vs. LAA and Longoria has an RBI single. 1-0 Tampa in the 4th.
Millar with a 3-run shot in the first, and the game is delayed after that.
Texas gets an RBI double from Milton Bradley, 1-0 in the 1st.

I just read he lowered his ERA to 1.48. either way, the dude looks like a high school math teacher. but has amazingly electric stuff. Thank God the Stro's get to face Zito for the first game and not Timmy.

Chris Sampson is pitching 6.2 innings of shutout baseball, so this is 2 nights in a row the LA bats have been so silent.

They'll probably add a really good defensive assistant like the Celtics did. But yeah, there's only a couple guys - Nate Dogg, Crawford, Lee, Balkman, Chandler - who would do well in his system. Perhaps Marbury returns? That wouldn't be terribly pathetic. They might have a top 5 pick (Bayless would be a hell of a fit). So maybe they might have a decent team after all.

Damn Dolezel still playing?? I remember when Clint was the qb for the Houston Monsters or whatever their name was. he was a pretty good qb back then.. he was the master of the 3 step drop, leap, throw ala John Elway style.

I really don't understand this move by him. Sure, it's a little more money. I can understand that, but with the Knicks he just won't have the right players to be able to coach the only way he knows. He has slow big men and a point guard who doesn't have near the basketball IQ that Nash does.

D'Antoni has soft practices and is a laid-back guy and that's not a great thing to be on a team that's already lacking discipline. He's going to look so bad that he won't be able to get another contract after he fails. At least with the Bulls he would still look good.

That looks similar to the 80s team I drafted which also has Lackey. That team's really, really looking good right now. I'd worry about KJ, Votto, Drew and Willingham later on, but for now, they're amazing.

I've gone to three Soul games over the past three, four seasons. Great atmosphere. I'm so hoping to get playoff tix this year and especially close to the action. I usually end up in rows 20+ which is useless for the purpose of the game, which is to get yourself killed by these large men running full speed into you. The stud QB gets hurt yet again this year (Tony Graziani) but D'Orazio led the team to several wins in a row (undefeated until their most recent game). Amazing season yet far.

Speaking of the Desperados...

We'll bea... meet you on the 7th.

Yes, AFL games can be a lot of fun... What bugs me about the league is how much players switch teams. With all the old Rattlers players now gone, we have only one left from the glory days and it seems like we get a brand new team each year. 5-6 right now...good chance for fans to get a full refund on their tix...

I only mention it because I went to my first Desperados game tonight. Despite the Stars playoff game and probably half of American Airlines Center being empty, I was surprised at how loud it got. It was a hell of a lot louder than throughout most of the Rangers game. Dolezel got to 900 TDs, I got to heckle the hell out of some Rampage player and actually have him hear me (and not like it too much), and got to see the Desperados go to 9-1. More importantly, I got a close up view if the Desperados Dancers.
