Two Start Pitchers :: Week 3
by Scott Mickels
Published: April 22, 2012, 11:45 am

Daniel Hudson It's Week 3 (or Week 4, depending on where you play your fantasy baseball) and this week I have one Injury Watch to get to.  For this we head to the desert where Arizona's Daniel Hudson was placed on the 15-day DL with an impingement in his right shoulder.  He was scheduled to get two starts this week, but obviously that's not the case now.  An MRI revealed there was no structural damage, so that's some good news.  However, the Diamondbacks have made it clear they have no intentions on rushing Hudson back.  So if you own him, it'd be wise to stash him on your DL spot (if you have one) and find a serviceable replacement on your league's waiver wire.

Someone likely available in your league to use as a replacement is Miami's Mark Buehrle The ever-consistent Buehrle has turned in 3 quality starts in 3 outings.  His record only stands at 1-2, but his 2.66 ERA and 1.13 WHIP are impressive for the 33-year old.  This week Buehrle is in line to get two starts.  Incidentally, two starts against two teams he's never faced before in his career in the Mets and Diamondbacks.  Good pitchers typically get the better of teams the first time they face them, so I expect Buehrle to keep on rolling next week.  Consider Buehrle a solid option in deeper mixed leagues.

Now, on to what we all came here for, the Two-Start Pitchers!

Of course, if you have any pitching questions, or now any fantasy football questions, don't hesitate to email me with them at scottmickels@fantasyplaymakers.com

NOTE:  These starts are not set in stone. They can change for any variety  of    reasons: managerial moves, injuries, rain-outs, etc. Please keep  in   mind  they are probable.
