Two Start Pitchers :: Week 22 by Scott Mickels Published: August 28, 2011, 8:04 pm
This will definitely be a tricky week for fantasy owners for a couple of reasons. First, rosters expand this Thursday meaning managers could opt to shuffle their rotations to give a youngster a spot start. Second, and more importantly, Hurricane Irene is wreaking havoc on the east coast causing games to be delayed and postponed. Make sure you stay on top of what's happening on the east coast before setting your lineups this week. Those of you in the hurricane's path, please stay safe out there!
We also have one Injury Watch to talk about this week. For this we head to the city of brotherly love where Phillies starting pitcher Cole Hamels has been recovering from shoulder inflammation for the last two weeks. He's thrown a few bullpen sessions during his recovery. In fact, his last bullpen session on Wednesday was described by Phillies pitching coach Rich Dubee as "absolutely fabulous". Hamels is next scheduled to start Monday at Cincinnati. This will be his first start since August 12. He is a bit of an injury risk, but should still be considered an Advisable Option going into Week 22 in most standard leagues. Good luck! Now, on to what we all came here for, the Two-Start Pitchers! Of course, if you have any pitching questions, or now any fantasy football questions, don't hesitate to email me with them at scottmickels@fantasyplaymakers.com. NOTE: These starts are not set in stone. They can change for any variety of reasons: managerial moves, injuries, rain-outs, etc. Please keep in mind they are probable.
