Two Start Pitchers :: Week 10 by Scott Mickels Published: June 2, 2013, 6:42 pm
We’ve got three Injury Watch’s on tap this week. The first one takes to the Sunshine State where Tampa Rays starting pitcher Alex Cobb is having trouble with a fingernail on his pitching hand. It’s apparently affecting how he’s able to grip the baseball. As a result, the Rays skipped his start on Friday. This is not something serious as the Rays expect Cobb to be able to make his next scheduled start Tuesday at Detroit. Consider Cobb a low-end No-Brainer for Week 10. Our next Injury Watch comes to us from the Big Apple where Yankees’ pitcher Andy Pettitte is recovering from a tight muscle in his left shoulder. Pettitte has been out of action with the injury since May 16. After throwing bullpen sessions and simulated games without any setbacks, he’s set to make his return to the Yankees’ rotation Monday at home against the Tribe. Pettitte makes a nice Keep in Mind option in most leagues. And for the last Injury Watch this week, we head down south to Georgia where Atlanta Braves’ pitcher Kris Medlen is dealing with a contusion on his left calf. He suffered the injury after taking an Emilio Bonifacio line drive off it during his last start. Medlen was able to stretch it and run without any pain on Friday, so it appears he’s in line to make his next scheduled start at home against Pittsburgh. Plug him into your lineup as you would normally. Medlen makes for an Advisable Option in standard leagues.
Good luck to your fantasy teams! Now, on to what we all came here for, the Two-Start Pitchers!
