Two Start Pitchers :: Week 22 by Scott Mickels Published: August 19, 2008, 6:51 pm
With just a little over a month left in the regular season, most of you out there are trying to make that playoff push in your league. Well, I have good news and good news this week. The good news is there are only two Injury Watch's and the good news is neither one will make much of an impact, except in perhaps deep AL-only leagues.
The first IW comes to us from the Lone Star state where the Rangers Vicente Padilla has been suffering from pain in his chest and neck. It seems after getting his start pushed back twice Padilla will finally toe the rubber today. Even if he gets through the start without any set backs, he wasn't pitching all that well before the injury. He's allowed at least 5 earned runs or more in 4 of his last 7 starts. Padilla is best left for deep AL-only leagues for Week 22.
Our second IW is in Oakland where A's starter Dallas Braden is trying to recover from a mild groin strain he suffered in his last start. He's slated to pitch this Wednesday (8/20) at Minnesota. If he seems healthy, he will probably only warrant consideration in, like Padilla, deep AL-only leagues. Unfortunately, there aren't any emails this week. You're a part of this column too! If you have any questions you'd like answered, don't hesitate to email me with them at scottmickels@fantasyplaymakers.com. I'm more than happy to help you out and get your team's rotation pointed in the right direction. Now, without further ado, on to the two-start pitchers!
NOTE: These starts are not set in stone. They can change for any variety of reasons; managerial moves, injuries, rain-outs, etc. Please keep in mind they are probable.
