Mick's Picks :: Week 13
by Scott MIckels
Published: December 5, 2009, 10:07 pm

Make sure to check here every week! Each week, I'll suggest three players that are likely on your league's waiver wire that could provide a spark to your fantasy team. Of course, if you have any questions you'd like me to answer, please send them to me at scottmickels@fantasyplaymakers.com.

Now, for this week's Mick's Picks...

Mick's Picks - Week 13

Kenny Britt, WR, TEN (@ IND)

FPM Spin: Some seem to think Justin Gage's return this week will cut into Britt's fantasy production, but I'm not buying it. While Gage was out, Britt developed a nice rapport with quarterback Vince Young by catching 11 balls for 170 yards and two touchdowns the last two weeks. Britt is still Young's favorite target with or without Gage, and frankly I think he's a better receiver as well. He should make a decent #4 receiver in most leagues.

Season Stats - 33 receptions, 521 yards, 2 TD

Chris Brown, RB, HOU (@ JAX)

FPM Spin: With Steve Slaton expected to miss this week with a neck injury, Brown will get the start. He's played well the last two weeks getting double-digit carries and averaging 4.2 yards a rush. If he sees more starts, particularly in Week's 14 and 15 when he faces the Seahawks and Rams, he could prove to be a valuable pick-up off the wire. As long as Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson are keeping defenses honest, Brown should be able to have some decent success as the Texans starting running back. Consider him a low-end #2 in most leagues.

Season Stats - 65 carries, 234 yards, 2 TD

Chris Redman, QB, ATL (vs PHI)

FPM Spin: While Matt Ryan recovers from turf toe, Redman gets the starts at quarterback for the Falcons. He played fairly well last week in place of Ryan throwing for 243 yards and two scores against Tampa Bay. Redman faces Philadelphia this week, another good pass defense, but has some good weapons to throw to and should still have decent success. He's not someone I'd bench any regular starter for, but if you happen to be in a bind at quarterback, you could do worse than Redman. He makes a low-end #2 in deeper leagues.

Season Stats - 243 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT

HONORABLE MENTIONS

Anthony Fasano, TE, MIA: Came back from an injury to be the Dolphins' leading receiver in Week 12.

Matt Leinart
, QB, ARI: With Kurt Warner's health in question, he's someone to keep in mind if you're thin at quarterback.

Bo Scaife
, TE, TEN: His receptions and yardage have increased each of the last three weeks.
