Mick's Picks :: Week 11
by Scott Mickels
Published: November 12, 2008, 12:05 am

Make sure to check here every week! Each week I'll help you make those critical waiver wire decisions that can make or break your team. Also, check out the FPM Weekly podcast , to not only hear any changes to my Mick's Picks, but you can hear podcast co-host Matt Ridley, list of his "Ridley's Releases" as well.

Mick's Picks - Week 11

Kevin Boss, TE, NYG (vs BAL)

FPM Spin: It was the pre-season when I named this guy one of my biggest sleepers in fantasy on the pre-season podcast. Unfortunately, only recently has he been living up to that billing and is effectively filling the void left by Jeremy Shockey. Boss has developed a nice rapport with quarterback Eli Manning as he's managed to score in his last four straight games. In fact, he's playing so well right now he led the Giants in receptions and yards last week. Chances are he was dropped in most leagues earlier in the year because of his sub-par start to the season, so there's a good chance he's available in your league. He does have a tough match-up this week against the Ravens, but he should still be considered a low-end #1 and solid #2.

Stats - 19 receptions, 217 yards, 4 TD

Mark Bradley, WR, KC (vs. NO)

FPM Spin: The former Oklahoma Sooner broke out in a big way last week catching nine balls for 81 yards and a touchdown against the Chargers. Bradley has quietly turned into a reliable option for Tyler Thigpen to throw to for the better part of a month now. In his last three games, Bradley has 18 receptions for 188 yards and two scores. Because of the Chiefs occasional ineptitude on offense, Bradley isn't someone to rely on each week, but he does deserve to be picked up in most leagues. This week's game against the Saints is a favorable match-up, so Bradley could be used as a decent #3. Plus, with Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez and Dwayne Bowe getting most of the defenses' attention, Bradley should see a lot of single coverage. If you find yourself a little thin at receiver, Bradley could be your man.

Stats - 19 receptions, 196 yards, 2 TD

BenJarvus Green-Ellis, RB, NE (vs. NYJ)

FPM Spin: The final pick this week is a guy who has a name that just rolls off the tongue and is fun to say—kind of like the word "riboflavin". Say it with me… RI-BO-FLA-VIN. BenJarvus Green-Ellis (had to get the whole thing in there at least once) has become a very consistent back for the Patriots. He's found the end zone in his last four games, and turned in his best game of the year last week rushing for 105 yards on 26 carries and a score. In addition, he's also been getting praised from head coach Bill Belichick, so that's always a good thing. He will continue to share the load with Kevin Faulk, but it seems apparent he's their #1 running back right now as well as their goal-line back. If he keeps playing like this, Sammy Morris will have a hard time getting his starting job back. The Pats do face a formidable opponent this week in the Jets, so about 50-60 yards and maybe a score is a realistic expectation for BenJarvus Green-Ellis. (HA! got it in twice).

Stats - 63 carries, 243 yard, 4 TD

HONORABLE MENTIONS

Peyton Hilis, RB, DEN - meet the Broncos new starting tailback

Michael Jenkins, WR, ATL - has gained at least 50 yards in his last 4 games

Tyler Thigpen, QB, KC - averaging 237 yards, 2 touchdowns and no interceptions in his last 3 games
