Chris Redman, QB, ATL (@TB)
FPM Spin: With most leagues’ playoffs started, this one is purely out of desperation. Nonetheless, Redman has been very efficient since taking over as the starting quarterback for the Falcons. He does have a tough match-up this week at Tampa Bay, and it remains to be seen how the team will respond to head coach Bobby Petrino leaving, but Redman could develop into a decent fantasy option in the final few weeks. He’s definitely worth a look in deeper leagues as a backup.
Stats - 479 yd, 4 TD, 2 INT Aaron Stecker, RB, NO (vs. ARI) FPM Spin: Reggie Bush is reportedly out for the season, which leaves the starting running back job to Stecker. He has had to step in as the starter in the past for Deuce McAllister, so he does have experience and has shown he is more than adequate. He should see the bulk of the carries in New Orleans with rookie Pierre Thomas possibly stealing some touches. With the Saints offense playing as well as it is, Stecker should see plenty of looks down the stretch. He makes a good #3 running back in any league. Stats - 79 carries, 300 yards, 1 TD Darius Walker, RB, HOU (vs. DEN) FPM Spin: With Ron Dayne doubtful for Week 15 (ankle injury), a large amount of the carries will go to Walker on Thursday against the Broncos. He finished Week 14’s contest against the Bucs with 46 yards on 16 carries. That’s still less than 3 yards a carry, but he’s facing a Denver rush defense this week that has given up a ton of yards on the ground. Granted, like Redman, this is a move that should only be made out of desperation, but Walker could be worth a look in deeper leagues and any of you owners that were relying on the services of Ron Dayne. If you do happen to go with him, make sure you have him in your lineup before Thursday night’s game. Stats - 16 carries, 46 yards, 0 TD
Bench
Reggie Bush, RB, NO (vs. ARI)
FPM Spin: Bush is likely out for the season. There is a small bit of hope that he’ll return, but he has an injury (torn left posterior cruciate ligament) that needs at least a month to heal. It’s highly unlikely he’ll be back on the field again in ’07. At this point, aside from keeper leagues, he should dropped by everyone.
Stats - 157 carries, 581, yards, 4 TD Ron Dayne, RB, HOU (vs. DEN) FPM Spin: As I mentioned earlier, Dayne is doubtful for Week 15 as he’s hobbled by an ankle injury. He was rolling right along as a decent fantasy producer until being derailed by the injury early last week in the game against Tampa. He should be back for Week 16, but has touch match-ups the last two weeks of the season against the Colts and Jaguars. Dayne should be benched in Week 15 for a better fantasy option. Stats - 162 carries, 618 yards, 3 TD DJ Hackett, WR, SEA (@ CAR) FPM Spin: Hackett is doubtful for Week 15 against the Panthers. He again sprained the same ankle he sprained earlier in the year that forced him to miss six games. Considering this situation doesn’t look good and how much time he’s missed this season, you can’t count on him at all down the stretch. I suppose some of you in deeper leagues might consider hanging onto him solely as a backup, but for the rest of you, could absolutely justify dropping him and looking somewhere else for receiver help. Stats - 28 receptions, 343 yards, 3 TD - Scott Mickels, FPM Staff Writer Support FPM! You can send your questions and comments to Scott Mickels Looking for additional help.
